The Wail 2013

Yes I know that there is a thread on Facebook but I do not want to start getting lots of messages that I do not want from people that I do not know. SO ,its the Wail in less than 2 weeks and there does not seem to be any activity on our beloved Mudcat so I thought that it was time to remedy this. This for me is what the singing is all about, not only being serious and shewing great respect to our Traditions but also being downright bloody silly at the Feast. Sir Leigh B'Astard

If you have never been shame on you. Best traditional folk event you could ever meet. Although some of those going are are very old, having been around since medieval times.(only going by their dress sense) Singing is great. Beer is good and the feast should never be missed.
Who ran away with the head?

RAN ? ? ? You should not draw attention to the theft of the Head, it must be quite and crafty like a Tory tax increase. It is best done when no-one is paying it any attention. Could not agree more with your comments "One Third"
P S I take it that you were refering to the Pig's Head and not the Maidens

Many thanks Nic, I had planned to put something up this week. It's our Silver Anniversary Wail with lots of specialness planned. Don't miss it...no, really, don't.

Maidens surely not. Are they at the Wail as well? I think the alarm bells going off are enough to draw any attention to the theft of the Pigs Head. Crafty works so does speed to get away. The alcohol helps the most though, along with the cheerfulness of the whole company.

Now that's a good idea Kitty, would grey hair qualify? Perhaps I could find a Silver spoon. See you at your very Democratic Singarounds.

Sorry I can't make it; over-nighters are a bit difficult these days. I looked at a day trip but it's just a bit too far. Enjoy the singing and the feast.

"remember to bring something silver to wear!" " would grey hair qualify?"
Hair!; I remember that.

We had a fabulous weekend! Went all out with the silver stuff. Those mauve and purple balloons and some of the silver ones were from our wedding!!! Still finding bits of glitter on ourselves, and most of my clothes have a distinctly smoky smell from the lovely fire!

We only came home late yesterday. After packing up our van, our little cat Onyx was nowhere to be seen. She made herself very scarce over the weekend - only making brief appearances late at night. I think she was in mouse heaven So we figured we'd have a long wait - and we did. After 5 hours of passing the time playing codewords, drinking our thermos tea, and Rob having a nap, she finally showed up about 8.30pm! So we ended up driving home in the dark! Next year it will be the cattery for her!!!

Just wondering how a mysterious laminated sign appeared on our caravan some time over the weekend. I think it said "Campsite manager" or something similar, and we aren't, of course. When Rob found the sign late on Sunday, he said "Oh, that explains why someone came knocking at our door asking if they could pay for the weekend!". Terri/Idris, did you drop it? Anyway I took it down to the main tent on Sunday night and left it there. I hope it ends up in the right place.

Thank you to all the people who work so hard to make this weekend happen for us, and congratulations to all the birthday/anniversary people. Hope it goes for another 25 years, and more!

If I had realised I could have got money I should have kept the sign.
Teach me to be too hasty when Idris thought he had sneaked the sign onto my van.Brilliant weekend. thankyou all, especially those who worked behind the scenes, washing up food preparing cooking and all the other jobs.Calm above the surface peddling like hell below. Superb sing as usual. Thankyou terry and Idris for all your organisation. Tickets and direction signs on a Friday. Never been known before. Ha Ha Psychomorris

First one I'd managed to get to in about four years, wouldn't have missed it for anything. As mentioned on other sites 'Silver Machine' will never be the same again !

Great weekend, brilliantly organised, enjoyed meeting up with some folks I hadn't seen for a long time. See you next year, work allowing..
