Latest news:

Merek'n'Dary have scheduled a MudGather for us on the Saturday (12th Oct) at the Drayton Leisure Golf Centre Clubhouse from 3.30- 6.30pm after the Big Sing. all welcome, please bring smiles, hugs and chocolate!

I know some of you won't have been up to Drayton if you haven't camped there in the past, but it's very easily accessible and is on the festival shuttle bus route. They always do a good selection of real ales and snacks and Nick & Lesley are always very welcoming to us Folkies.

So, who's coming???

I should be there. We are only coming to Banbury on Saturday this year (busy month), but fortunately the gather is on Saturday too!

Chocolate, I suppose?

Gathering, but slowly! We have a 3 hour gather and only 6 people so far--half an hour each! Better brush up some extra songs!

We'll give the Mudgather a plug in the Big Sing - hopefully reaching people who like singing and might want to continue!

Got a tin of chocolates for you even if we are too busy to make the gather in person!
Mudcatters .... Banbury is very much a singers' festival this year! We have our Vocal and Vibrant Concert on Friday with Kimber's Men, The Young 'Uns and Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner.... Kimber's Men will also be in the big Sing with Derek and Kitty, John Morris, Jim McAdams and The Skeptics. The Young 'Uns have several gigs over the weekend! Hope to see you there!

What a great festival! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And it was indeed very much a singers' festival. Rob and I had a great deal of fun at the Mudgather, and various photos were taken, which will be put on Facebook when we have time :)

For anyone who couldn't stay for Sunday night - you missed a brilliant session. Our hosts provided us with sandwiches, chips and cake, and the singing went on for hours, with many humorous interludes ;)

Now we have to work out how to get our awning dry. The rain kept on today, so we had to fold it up wet. Not much space to spread it out indoors and the weather looks too dodgy to leave it outside. Sure we'll figure something out....

Had a great Banbury. Thanks to all of you for behaving on the Drayton campsite where Badger and I were Campsite Managers.

It was a fun (and different) Mudgather. Glad I provided so much amusement for MGAS and Patty :-)

sadly only made Saturday this year but had a great time nonetheless. Wonderful blues-ish session in the morning, some really great acts to watch, and the mudgather, which was a bit "different" but friendly and fun. Thanks to MGAS for organising, and, of course, to Merek'n'Dary and all the others who made it all possible.

Just wondering how long MGAS's list of Mudcatters at the festival has got..... even if they didn't all make the Mudgather....

Ah Kitty, it's quite a list!! Sorry for delay, but it's been a busy week fitting in funerals etc.

A fabulous Banbury Festival once again & huge thanks to Merek'n'Dary and all the Volunteers, Stewards and Performers who helped to make it such a great weekend!

Yes, the MudGather was different this year, mostly due to being 'out of town' at Drayton and clashing with some wonderful concerts. But we had some Stalwart MudCatters attend complete with songs, smiles & chocolate of course. Those who stayed for the whole Gather managed two songs each and we chatted and laughed and even managed Group Photos. Hopefully Karen will put them up on the Mudcat Facebook pages when she gets a chance!

We decided that the list should include all Catters at the Festival and so here 'tis:

Merek'n'Dary
JennyO
Quantock
Mrs Scarecrow
Mr Scarecrow (apologies)
ShortyBrenda
Mr Red (apologies)
Leraud
Wild Flying Dove
Badger (apologies)
Tig
Robbie Wilson
Richard Atkins
Sue the Borderer
Dame Patti Smith EPNS
Splott Man (apologies)
Moses
Singing Referee
Hamish
Hector Gilchrist (can't remember his MudCat name!)
Battery
Torch
George Papavgeris
Herga Kitty
The Horologist (guest)
PaulaT
Snuffy
my guru always said
Rosie - Selchie (RS)
Firecat (apologies)
Windhover Weaver
Murf
T2L (is that right??)
Lady Policeman
Jock'o'Dreams (apologies)
North\South Annie (apologies)
The Unicorn Man
Eldergirl (did you get there?)

Now I know that there are loads of MudCatters I've missed this time, speak up, who did I miss???

Already looking forward to the next one!!
