As I have previously mentioned on Mudcat and elsewhere, my wife Marilyn and I will be visiting the UK in late October and early November 2013. This is an invitation to an informal get-together for singing, jamming, and conversation on Saturday afternoon, November 2, beginning at 4:00 PM. We will meet in the lobby of the Tavistock Hotel in London. That's on the south side of Tavistock Square, just west of Woburn Place. That's close to the Russell Square tube station. We can take a break for dinner, after which we can reconvene, if people wish. Otherwise it will still be early enough to do whatever you would ordinarily be doing on a Saturday night. Yes, the hotel has a bar. So far, Terry Silver (Leadfingers) said he will join us, unless a last minute afternoon gig comes his way. Please let us know if we can count you in as well. I believe that is about a 30 mile drive if you cross the Thames near Thurrock, and it should take well under an hour each way. The club starts at 2:30 PM. I understand that is the first day back on Standard Time. (In North America we do not revert until the following Sunday.) Maybe we will finally get the chance to meet --- Steve |

The Tavistock, where we are currently staying, has a much more pleasant and intimate lobby. --- Steve |

While there might have been a little more conversation and a little less music than originally envisioned, we certainly enjoyed both. We even got in a chantey or two near the end, as well as an American freedom song that could get just as loud. The dinner at the nearby Greek restaurant made for a pleasant end to the evening. Special note to Liz the Squeak: Marilyn and I really missed your presence. Lots of love from the two of us.
