90 and echo your comment.
Bad back from the physical labor involved with a little farm we bought on a whim. Have avoided excessive activity ever since.

Us kids of only 74 congratulate you 'experts'...

Remember, 'over the hill' means downhill from here on... (that can mean easier going as well as too fast.)

Gee, I'm one of the young punks who'll turn 69 next month -- on a trip to the subarctic to do some aurora viewing. When I get back I'd mug some of you old farts except I'd probably get beat up and rolled myself.

Y'all have a happy birthday and remember, you're still lookin' at the tope of the grass (or snow).

You guys are inspiring! I'm *only* 78 and I may make it to your level in numbers but I won't be anything like some people I just watched on YouTube; have you seen 86-year-old gymnast Johanna Quaas or pianist Alice Herz Sommer at age 109?

I think you have to start early, stay focused and have a good bit of luck tossed in.

89 & 90 & all the other numbers are excellent numbers, so much knowledge! so much staying power! so much scholarship!

I feel privileged to know you

Happies atchya Louie!

All of you inspire me. Not only for your longevity but also for your wisdom and sharpness of mind. Kinda makes me think that my lack of wisdom can be partly blamed on my relative youth. >;-) As for the dullness of mind, well, nuthin I can do about that now eh?

A very happy birthday from a chipper, soon-to-be-70-year old!

Great quote, Louie - from Eubie Blake as I recollect. :-)

Happy birthday, kid.

I don't worry about getting old as long as I'm still so cute.

I'm considering the opinion attriuted to T. S. Eliot:

"The years between 50 and 70 are the hardest. You are always being asked to do things, and yet you are not decrepit enough to turn them down."

I'm a little past his "difficult years," but apparently not far enough to have noticed much change.

I gotta have my glasses on to count change. Nickels and quarters should be different colours. I might write a goddam letter!

Those of us more accustomed to lessened visual acuity have learned that quarters have a serrated edge and nickels are smooth on the edge. You don't even have to take them out of your pocket to tell which you have.

They are sufficiently similar in size and weight that rigorous scientific tests in the lab a few decades ago showed that squashing a nickel between two solid steel plates at 16,000 pounds load would make the nickel look like a quarter to the vending machines down the hall, but I believe the machines have improved discrimination now.

Even then, coin-pay telephones could tell the difference, but there aren't any of those still in existence so the knowledge of how to turn nickels into quarters is totally academic and useless even if it had worked for the phones.

Some say that Mark Twain, George Burns, or even Mickey Mantle may have said almost the same words originally. However, in the interest of making this a musical thread I'll go with Eubie Blake. On the other hand, Samuel Clemens played guitar.

Whatever the case, a very happy birthday to you!
