I recorded the Tv showing of it, but I had a mishap with my machine and it got wiped! From: GUEST,punkfolkrocker I've just got round to watching the initial BBC4 broadcast for the first time right now, because I need to clear space on the Humax Youview hard drive. I've never owned any Nic Jones LPs / CDs, and never heard any either. Just the odd tracks on youtube. This is a very belated listening experience. Some aspects of his pre accident voice and guitar playing I'm immediately liking, though there's something about it I'm not too sure about, that I'm not entirely connecting with..?? But I much prefer his performance at the comeback gig at the end of the program. To my ears, the fragility in his voice now has a more engaging character & tone than the self posessed confidence of his youth. Is this gig [or any other recent recordings] available in it's entirity anywhere ? |

Impossible for me not to be biased, but I think the film is a sensitively shot testament to Nic the Musician; Nic the Family Man & Nic the creator of a body of work that has touched & continues to touch, many.
