BBC Desert Island Discs Archive 1940's to Present Day You will find some tremendous interviews with a great many musicians (folk, country, pop, classical, etc..), and other popular people in life, going back several decades. Whilst the muisc choices are not complete (because of copyright issues), the intervews give great insight into so many lives and what was happening at the time. It's a great way to pass away 30-40 minutes when relaxing. I hope you find the link of use Who is your favourite? |

For many years, the now-defunct Tower Records had a Desert Island Discs list in its monthly Pulse Magazine. Tower is probably the most famous thing ever to come out of Sacramento, California - and now it's gone. Wikipedia says Desert island Discs was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1942. Russ Solomon founded Tower Records in Sacramento in 1960, so I guess that answers my question. The Brits win. -Joe- |
