21 Nov 99 - 04:41 PM (#139244) Subject: Lyr Add: BLUES STAY AWAY FROM ME^^ From: Gary T I second catspaw's advice, put the title of the song in your thread title and you greatly increas the odds that the right folks will respond. In this case, I am familiar with the song. Here it is from memory: Blues, stay away from me; blues, why don't you let me be; (I) don't know why, you keep a-haunting me. Tears, so many I can't see; years, don't mean a thing to me; time goes by, and still I can't be free. Love, was never meant for me; true love, was never meant to be; it seems somehow, we never could agree. (Repeat first verse) Hope that helps. |

'Blues Stay Away' is a resilient little song, having been covered by everyone from Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll Trio, to Jeff Beck, to JB Hutto, to Ladysmith Black Mambazo - it shines in a multitude of styles. |
