No kidding it really is a new tv show. I mean why
It would take all the fun out of dating. They already start at second base. Wow modern day trends

The Canadian Doukhobors practiced naked protests, when being uncovered in Canada wasn't cool:

""Doukhobors are a sect of Russian dissenters, many of whom now live in western Canada. They are known for a radical pacifism...a tiny, radical splinter, called Sons of Freedom, rejected any control by Canadian authorities and saw themselves as "ringing bells" destined to remind other Doukhobors to adhere to traditional values. To show their freedom from material possessions, from the 1920s onward they marched, burned their own homes, the homes of other Doukhobors and torched public buildings, rail lines and schools in disputes with the government of British Columbia over education and other issues. Many in this group were later imprisoned for nude protest parades and had their children taken from them.""

Weirder still is the TV show "Naked & Afraid", where a man & woman try to survive for 3 weeks in deserts & jungles and such, beginning with no clothes and just a couple of items like a small knife and a tin can.
Some of them make it, some get really upset and injured or sick. I think they pay them well.

(Yes, the naughty bits are blurred for the broadcast.)

I sat amazed for about 1 1/2 shows, then decided it was so stupid that I avoid it now.

Disagree bill on naked and afraid. That is a sob challenge. 21 days without anything even clothing
Tough challenge for sure. I go out fully clothed with just a knife and spend a weekend alone and that is hard enough.

Stay away from Naked Leapfrogging!

It's much safer in a cold climate.

I was in a group the other day that was discussing Naked and Afraid. We agreed that the basic idea is flawed, i.e. {they are not alone} there is a camera crew; {the camera crew has food} they will not starve; {there is a doctor or other health professional on site} they will not die and if they are injured they will be treated.

Frankly, I think the whole idea is stupid beyond belief.

If, as I suppose, it makes heaps of $$$$ for the network and pays the naked people quite well, it makes stupidity a relative thing. (and the camera crews don't seem to interfere unless there IS an emergency)
Hanging by a tiny rope from an ice ledge in the Himalayas is another sort of stupidity as people "test themselves" to find their limits.... as is doing a backflip on a motorcycle or handling poisonous snakes or diving from 100' into 3 ft. of water.

Takes all kinds ... and if naked mountain climbing were made into a TV program, I've no doubt IT would make money.

However, the premise of facing the wilderness/jungle/whatever naked and without tools or supplies of any kind to see whether I would survive- ha.

I live in a cold wet climate in a heavily forested area. If I were to flee naked and without tools or food or pots and pans into the national forest all around me, I'd be dead within the week most likely. I can eat grubs and larvae, I can -eventually - build a fire, I can utilize a hollow in the earth to sleep or build a shelter from boughs and burrow into wet, cold leaves...

But say that I go into a tropical jungle instead. OK, so I won't die of exposure the first night.   But I have other threats to face: venomous snakes and spiders, infections from stepping barefooted onto toxic substances or my sole being pierced by sharp objects... Remember, I have no towels to clean a wound even if I find clean water to do it with. Remember also that my feet are not yet toughened.

And this is just the first day... I still have to build my first fire- have you noticed that it isn't easy to create flame? It can be done but it certainly helps to have dry materials to begin with.

It is an interesting scenario, certainly, but- ah, maybe I'll have to watch the show in order to see what they present.

Yep, Ebbie...some of the tasks are daunting... but some of the participants are trained survivalists or 'outdoors aficionados'. I, too, would not survive long in most of those situations, but I gather that some thrive on the challenge. (I'm not sure why they include 'naked' in the requirements .............wait... yes, I am.. ;>)

In the past nine days, I've survived several houra of being immersed naked in Agean sea water along the shores of Naxos with a person of the opposite sex. It's been rough, but I've survived it so far.

It gives the woman an unfair advantage. She can immediately tell how interested the man is.

Subject: RE: BS: Tv show dating naked

Ah, but that interest reveals nothing much. A roll in the hay - hey! hey!- perhaps but nothing that denotes long term commitment or even next week.

Ebbie - I ended up in bed with a girl within a few hours of us first meeting at a student party...

... and we're still together more than 30 years later....

So you never really can tell where that initial moment of drunken passion may end up...

But if we'd seen each other naked before the first drink was poured and the party got going...

who knows... ????

Ebbie - without that interest there is nothing on which to build a relationship. It's why there are two sexes.

"..without that interest there is nothing on which to build a relationship. "

I know of various exceptions to that platitude.

"Two sexes" does not come about because of a "why". There is no 'purpose' to nature.
