Origins: Child Molesting Blues (Patrick Sky)

I was just listening to "Child Molesting Blues" from Patrick Sky's album, Songs That Made America Famous. It's a horribly "great" song and it. So I'm asking some questions on this. Do anyone know who

...sang this song? The voice doesn't sound like Patrick Sky himself singing at all.

...played the guitar on this song? I believe Patrick's guitar style is heavily influenced by Mississippi John Hurt, but this sounds more like something from Robert Johnson.

...acted as the radio host on this song? This song has a brief "interview" before the singer started singing.

Any idea?

The song is a well-arranged delta blues despite its tongue-in-cheek lyrics. The guitar playing is awesome.

It is Patrick Sky singing and playing. The recording was doctored in such a way as to make it sound like a beat up scratched 78 of an old time singer.
The whole album is a Hoot if you will excuse the expression. Without going to my shelves I believe that this is the album where Mississippi John Hurt sings Gilbert and Sullivan.

There is also a song about the Pope at the time, hilarious.

I have to say that I love this album!

By the way, Mississippi John Hurt singing Gilbert and Sullivan is actually from "Give to the Cause", on album A Harvest of Gentle Clang. That album was once digitally available on iTunes - I must regret missing it...

Adelphi Records ....

It is an album that was in every ones milk crate LP arrangements in the 70s nowadays playing it in mixed company could be life threatening :)

The producing was superb .. No prejudice here ..

Anybody transcribed the lyrics? I find them very hard to make out through the fake-78 noise.

It would make a nice link song in between "The Captain's Apprentice" and Gary Glitter's "Do You Wanna Touch Me?".

CHILD MOLESTING BLUES
Patrick Sky

She's my jellyroll mama, she's white and 12 years old (2X)
She likes to do it in the morning, only charges me a tootsie roll.

I been loving that woman ever since she was 9 years old (2X)
when I molest her in the basement, Lord, she takes my heart and soul.

Baby, baby, baby, baby fat is where it's at (2X)
She likes it on the kitchen table, I likes it on my karate mat.

I woke up this morning and the blues was sittin' on my face (2X)
I said, "Good morning blues, won't you please get up off my face.

She's my jellyroll mama, she's whit and 12 years old (2X)
She might be only 12, she's got a body like a 14 year old.

are you kidding? Please do not ever sing t hat song. I just came from somewhere where 12 year old girls who had been molested were. It is not cute, funny, artistic, whatever.

OK, just for you I should perhaps include Sonny Boy Williamson's "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" in the set as well. (That was probably what Sky was spoofing).

Not saying that isn't the case - but it sure is a long, sordid stretch from 'Good Morning Little Schoolgirl' to that.

the words on paper or 'puter screen don't cut it. It needs to be heard for the satire to be appreciated. Blind Funk Earwax.
The interviewer could have been Erik Frandsen aka Mike Hunt. He was involved in 'Bake Dat Chicken Pie'
In these days of viral political correctness, Sky's album is a masterpiece, way ahead of the pack.

Thanks for making it clear who Mike Hunt was. He also wrote Giovanni Montini's song.

What is it that's being satirized, may I ask? Just out of curiosity. It's been a long time since 1971; the zeitgeist ain't what it used to be ....

Mike Hunt and Erik Frandsen are two entirely different people.
