Armstrong segment on NPR

I get three different NPR stations; after I heard the interview with Jenny Armstrong, and her daughters Susanna and Georgia Rose Armstrong-Park, I retuned and caught it again.

The interviewer asked the sisters about "sibling overtone" and they demonstrated it; it was lovely. Everything they sang was lovely. their 3 voices blend like cocolate, peanut butter, and whipped cream.

Hearing Jenny play the bagpipes reminded me of all the years I heard her father George open the U. of chicago folkfest (another great institution where I was introduced to the likes of Louis Killen and others).

I remember George reciting "Song of the Wandering Aengus" on his radio show, the Wandering Folksong. His recitation would melt ice. Rich Warren of WFMT ("WFMT is gonna enrich you") used to call George and Gerry a class act, and he was right.

I haven't heard the sisters' "Across the Blue Mountains" yet, or Jenny's latest "Dancing in a Circle," but I'm ordering them just as fast as I can.

All y'all must have caught the show; any other thoughts?

yours in peace and harmony, MAG

For those of you who may have missed it (like me - I was stuffing myself with turkey...), you can play it back from the NPR Website here; just click on "Thanksgiving Harmony". It's a 22 minute RealAudio file; beautiful piece!

Oops! that link is directly to the RealAudio file - NPR's website is here: http://search.npr.org/cf/cmn/cmnpd01fm.cfm?PrgDate=11%2F25%2F1999&PrgID=2

Thanks lamarca....my local NPR was carrying a public affairs forum during that time about Ohio State's usage of a no longer used field house. Very thrilling.

And BTW MAG....You get several and I can barely get one although I'm "between" four. I can get fair reception on one but the other 3 are mainly static infested.
