09 Dec 14 - 01:27 PM (#3683941) Subject: Obit: Phil Martin a.k.a Drohne From: GUEST,George Frampton I've just found out via Around Kent Folk that hurdy gurdy player Philip G Martin died on 18th October 2014. He was once a familiar sight busking in either Canterbury, Folkestone or elsewhere in East Kent dressed authentically at any musician from le Centrale Massif. Known also under his pseudonym Drohne, Phil lived at Minster in Thanet and, am told, was active musically until fairly recently, performing at a concert at St Nicholas-at-Wade parish church. He has numerous recordings under his name. |
