I just noticed Mudcat Time is now two hours earlier than my local time rather than one hour. Not that I really care... jus sayin eh?

It's also fast by about four minutes.

Ayup, kinda odd. It's 1:23 PM here in Maine.

I also noticed the time is slightly incorrect but I have never been one to bitch and complain about things. >;-)

Maybe Max is gradually working toward getting the full hour? People have been bitching and moaning about "losing" an hour of sleep, having their internal clocks screwed up, etcetera, all over the internUt.

What is time but a measure of the duration of eternity?

Has our time run out?

Ever since the time changed a month or so ago, I've noticed Mudcat time flip flopping between EST (Eastern (US) Standard Time) and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Haven't checked to see whether it depends on which server is hosting mudcat.

And I can never keep straight if I'm supposed to leap forward, slide back, or jump ahead, sit back...

Aside: a good page to have bookmarked if you communicate world wide, as on mudcat:
http://www.xkcd.com/1335/
(though it doesn't know about daylight-saving-time either.)

When the plane I was on broke down in Spain, between Delaware and Kuwait, I asked the pilot (staying in billeting with the rest of us) what time it was. He gave me 4 options.

Time is relative to one's longitudinal status, unless you're off-planet, and then I don't know what you use --probably Zulu/GMT/universal time. I noticed the clock was whacky, but it doesn't really matter.

AFAIK the US daylight saving time change is one week different from the UK BST.

we found this when an American company took over a brittish one - high tech and all that. The email was amalgamated company-wide and come the clock changinting time agreed appointments (UK employees all of them) turned up at different times depending on whether it was learned from e-mail or telphone.

Looks like it adjusted to the correct time within the last five minutes or so.

I'm showing 5:07, so it's still an hour out.

Joe ...
etta ---> EST -- Eastern Standard
awe ---> EDT -- Eastern Daylight Time

The main page is on etta. This page at the moment is on awe, but that seems to change over time and/or what thread gets called.

Overall, it doesn't really matter. But maybe I can post into the future. Maybe I did. Maybe I will.

So if you read "Messages Since Last Visit" and reset it to "Now" on Awe, you won't get any messages for an hour or so. If you reset it again on Etta, it will go back to the current time (related to when messages are posted).

I don't suppose it's any weirder than having the "visited" link color come up for a message newly posted because you read the same message number back before the crash.

Have a nice Friday, everyone!
