Wareham Wail 2015

Nearly time for The Wail again, folks.

September 4th - 6th: Do come, it is largely unaccompanied singing festival ( some of the best singers around imo) but we don't mind if you bring your guitar/ squeeze box/ banjo etc to accompany yourself if you want. There is a reasonably well behaved, quieter song tent and a usually raucous and badly behaved chorus/ shanty/ mad tent, so you can choose which suits or bounce between both. There is a midnight medieval banquet and singing around an open fire until the early hours. There is a cream tea workshop, real ale and honestly you'd be a mad eejit to miss it.

I believe there may be certain Beach based shenanigans at the 'cocktail hour' party, there may even be mankinis ( but I am fervently praying they think better of it) .Anyway bring your best beach songs and Hawaiian shirts or grass skirts,it should be a hoot.

See more here The Wail

Sounds like fun. Where's Wareham? What continent, for starters.

We;re both so sad not to be able to share the weekend this year. Fingers crossed we'll be there to steal the pigs head in 2016!

It is Verwood but so many people know it as the Wareham Wail.

We wish you could too. Meanwhile:

It's not long now until we'll be enjoying a fantastic weekend of song at The Wail.

This is just a quick reminder that the ticket price is set to rise to £28 on August 23rd, so there are only a few days left to get your tickets at the current low price of £22.

Meanwhile, I met one of the barmen for the Beach Party themed session when I was at Sidmouth and he assured me that his mankini is on order ... I can't wait!

Hope to see you on September 4th

Idris and Terri ( Morticia)

Highly recommended, the only place I've been a participant in a back of a safari Land Rover sing. Of course, I was very, very drunk at the time!!
