30 Aug 15 - 12:42 AM (#3734066) Subject: Work begins on giant Dylan mural From: GUEST,Lin I was reading in the newspaper today, August 29, 2015 that a team of artists are working on a giant mural featuring a portrait of musician Bob Dylan on a building in downtown Minneapolis. On Wednesday, the artists began painting the 60-foot-tall, 150-wide portrait of Dylan, who hailed from Duluth, Minnesota and once owned the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, the Star Tribune reports. The kaleidoscopic portrait will fill a whitewashed wall at the corner of Fifth St. & Hennepin Avenue. Commissioned by the building's owner, Goldman Sachs, the mural is part of Hennepin Theatre Trust's effort to help revitalize downtown Minneapolis with a cultural district. Note from Lin: Article did not indicate if the portrait will be one of a young 1960's Dylan or older-aged Dylan. |
