English Goodnight & joy be with you all?

There is a tune quoted in George Butterworth's "Two English Idylls" which starts out very much like the 17th century Scottish song "Good Night and God/Joy Be With You All" (better known in its modern adaptation as the Irish pub song "The Parting Glass"). I didn't realize there was an English version of it, but given the context, there must be, since Butterworth's piece is based on real folktune quotations. What is it and where did Butterworth find it?

First appears around 1:15 here:

The tune is Just as the Tide was Flowing. I can't say which version it is, although I rather fancy it is one which he himself collected. In any event, TEI was first published in 1911, so I'd say it will almost certainly have been published in one the Journals of The Folk Song Society some time before them.

Butterworth's stuff is in the Full English, so go to the EFDSS site and type in 'Just as the Tide was Flowing' and possibly 'Butterworth'. That should do it. When you get the search box use 'advanced search' and click on 'titles' and type in the title which will bring up all of the versions of 'Just' and then scroll along to find those collected by Butterworth.

Fred
The only version in the early journals is tune only collected by RVW.

Steve. Then that could be the very one.
