11 Sep 15 - 10:11 AM (#3736763) Subject: RE: Swanage folk festival UK 11-13 September From: Big Al Whittle Swanage is a great place to visit. they filmed the nude bathing scene in the Stephen Fry film of Oscar Wilde on the pier there. And there is a blue plaque on th front, cos that's where Paul Nash (the 1940's 'we are building a new world' painter) lived. a beautiful place with a great atmosphere for a folk festival. |
12 Sep 15 - 08:07 AM (#3736904) Subject: RE: Swanage folk festival UK 11-13 September From: bubblyrat Went there many, many times when I lived with a certain Dorset artist (shall we say ?) in Christchurch. It was one of my favourite places , and I enjoyed playing in sessions in various pubs there ; one year, one of the venues fed one from a noodle-bar (if you performed) and I performed a lot and ate LOTS of noodles! And playing in the Red Lion with melodeon-player Derek Tarrant was always great fun . |
