But a default costs 2 trillion and benefits banks.

A shutdown reflects the loss of low income employees and contractors.

Cut and paste this into your post:

The US government will shut down under the republican insistence that an organization for women's health and gynecological services be un funded and disbanded. We already have 13 laws saying the US government will never fund abortion.. As a result the Republican Congress will blame the Democrats that they stood in the way of approving the budget which is overdue and in danger of allowing the US government to default for not paying its bills and could have its credit rating drop which translates to higher interest rates.
The speaker of the house John Boehner (boner) who never could control the tea party faction has now quit.

the congress is now fucked up as usual but now is garnished with a huge turd on top.

Donuel, you are over-reaching. A shutdown has not happened (yet) and may not. And who came up with the figure of the cost being 85 Billion?

Hey, if the government shuts down, does that mean the politicians get a few days off from having to lie every day??...or is some free time time when they can spend to review the most recent bribes??
