While at a concert last night I heard a version called 'Crowle' which is set in a minor key and was a 19th setting Google, youtube and VWML have so far not taken me much further. Can anyone tell me more, especially where to find it? |

Indeed, it would have an airing at carol singing sessions hereabouts. The "Ilkley Moor" tune, as popularised in the Sheffield carols does get sung though. I'd be fascinated to find it was a local tune all the same. Try pm'ing Squeezebox John. He lives on the outskirts of Crowle and collects traditional tunes. |

I had got it into my head that we had already met? Maybe not then. I'm a fairly anonymous quiet chap at the best of times. 👼 I don't bother logging in these days so if you can post the dates of your sessions I will try hard to get to one. It is exactly 13.6 miles to Ashby, or at least to Rustys Bikes. I bought one and cycled home not a million years ago. The Missus was impressed till she noticed I had bought an electric one. |

The programme says 'Crowle'. However I do know one of the members socially so I may be able to borrow their music sometime over the Christmas break |
