Just to correct a rumour that seems to be going around, The 2016 Moira Furnace Festival is DEFINITELY STILL ON. Another local festival which runs in July has been cancelled and the fact that the festivals take place in the same village has caused the confusion.

The organisers are very keen to clear up the issue and to stress the fact that MFFF is very much on with ticket sales going well.

I hadn't heard the rumour but I am so pleased that Moira is still definitely on. It was our first time last year and was wonderful, I'm really looking forward to it.

I hope to be there with my Daughter in Law and her Mum at least. May have 2 other daughters in tow too as they love Blackbeards. Can I cope being surrounded by wimmin? :-) Not sure if I will make the Mudcat do.

Cheers

Dave

Not going now after all as other plans have overtaken me! Good news is that I will be going to the Whitby festival for a couple of days and then going to see Blackbeard's in Manchester on Oct 16. Every cloud and all that :-)

Would love to be there, but it is so close to Towersey and I may be doing a pre-festival diversion to relatives.

A guy has to wash his smalls sometime. (colour unspecified). Though the T-Shirts are the real limiting factor.

I was considering entering for a Guinness World Record with red T-Shirts - you never know, there aren't that many Mr Reds in circulation!

LOL Mr Red!! Must admit, haven't wondered about your 'smalls'!! Enjoy Towersey the following weekend!

Now, what shall I make for the MudGather?

Saturday 20th August 3.30-5.30pm in the Railway. Be there, or be somewhere else.....

If you can find the time and/or inclination, please pop along to my concert sets, they're on Saturday & Sunday in the Outbar stage about lunchtime!

Safe journeys all, see you there!

It was a bigger gathering than last year. Only two songs each as opposed to last year's four. I'm not complaining, there was lots of variety and only one person with a face lit up with the light from his tablet.

I'd like to see a mudgather farther north or north west, but what is it with chocolate? Chocolate and beer? Queer.

MM, had no idea you were there, didn't catch sight of you at all!!! :-(

Glad you came along Stanron! Always good to have plenty of variety, and chocolate of course!!

I'd be quite happy to organise more MudGathers 'oop North' if Festival organisers were interested. Not easy to arrange living 'down South', but am sure that other MudCatters could organise them. There have been a few Northern Gathers over the years. The festival organisers who program our regular Gathers (Alcester, Moira, Banbury & Bedworth) have always been very supportive of MudCat!!
