My schedule is set for touring folk clubs next fall and it's looking like a doozy! Thank goodness I like driving.

Even though it's quite awhile from now, I thought I would let folks know early to avoid disappointment.

Jody's 2016 November UK tour.

1    St Neots Folk Club - Cambridgeshire
2    Admiral Benbow - Penzance
4    Black Diamond - Birmingham
6    Bothy Folk Club - Southport
7    Pete & Sue Coe House Concert - Ripponden, West Yorkshire
8    Kiveton Park Folk Club - near Sheffield
11 Calstock Arts Centre - Cornwall: with Geoff Lakeman
12 Shammick Accoustic - Combe Martin, North Devon
14 Chesham Folk Club
15 Bracknell Folk Club
16 Dorking Folk Club
18 Swindon Folk Club
21 Warwick Folk Club

Hi Jody

Can't help but notice there's not a London date. Yet you've got a gap on the 17th in between Dorking and Swindon. It would, if you're in a car, be not too much of a stretch to fit in a London gig on the 17th, as Dorking to London is pretty easy.

Let me know if you'd like me to try to arrange a gig in London. 'Course, you might just want a night off!

My goodness, you are all correct.

So far, my autumn tour consists entirely of venues in England though it's not too late to include Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland... if I were only so lucky. Somerset, Dorset, and Eastern Devon are sadly absent from my list too, though not for lack of trying. London also evades me on this tour, though I would be happy to perform there on the 17th, a date I was reserving for a club that now looks like a lost cause.

Matt, can you help me out with this? PM sent.

Approximate Map of Jody Kruscal's Autumn 2016 dates.

This is a copy of Chris Rust's Folk Map www.folkmusicmap.com with an extra layer showing Jody Kruscal's Autumn 2016 dates.

I was messing about and thought this map might help Mutcatters offer gigs or suggest clubs Jody might visit on his days off!  ~~ I saw Jody when he played in Stockport last year. Definitely worth going to hear him.

Red markers are the towns mentioned, not the actual venues. ~~~~~
White markers are dates with no gig listed. Their locations are vaguely between the points of confirmed gigs.

Jody, if you don't find a paid gig for Sat 5th Nov my suggestion would be the Liverpool Shanty session.
Usually first Saturday of the month, but check the web site for occasional changes
The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool's only surviving sailortown pub, situated in the heart of the historic dockland.

Somerset suggestion...

I've never been to the actual acoustic club, but have been to the annual Burnham folk fest,
so I know this is a very good small venue with a decent proper stage.

FreddyHeady - WOW!

Chris Rust's Folk Map www.folkmusicmap.com is just what I've been looking for. Thanks for the tip. What a resource!

Glad that's hany for you Jody. Quite a few listed in the USA too if you drag the map or use the search box.

99% of those Listings have a website and contacts.

If you find yourself in Leicestershire this map has more clubs but not so much info for contacts
http://www.lfd.org.uk/map_single.php?id=95

And if you're in Staffordshire the link in my post above has a more detailed coverage.

Happy hunting.

I met Jody once before, at the "Globe" in Glossop. Jody had been promised an evening of British folk but was treated to "Friend of the Devil".

I'll try and make the Kiveton Park gig, not far from where I work nowadays.

HuwG - The Globe in Glossop? That must have been in 2006, my first year performing solo in England. I was being generously hosted by Brian Peters and he took me there for a proper English session.

Sorry, I don't remember playing Friend of the Devil but I do remember wandering off to the garden and drinking with some disaffected youths. These were slacker kids in their early 20s who claimed to have no prospects, no interests and no ambition. All they could think to do about it was to get together and cry into their beer. Their hopelessness really affected me. I remember advising them to pick up an instrument and learn some English tunes.

10 years later... do you think they got it together?

If I see them, I'll ask them, Jody!

Gosh, was that really ten years ago? Fond memories.
