Help IDing American folk song

Some versions of the computer game "The Oregon Trail," have folk songs playing in the background. There are a couple that sounded good to me, but I don't know what the names are. Does anyone know what songs these are?

Link 1 doesn't work.

Link 2 is "Green Grow the Lilacs."

The link works now, but I don't know the tune.

I've heard it before. You Tube just says "Fort Theme 6"; I may think of it later. Nice music.

Reminds me of the theme from "Maverick", but it's not. I agree with Rapparee, nice tune. Mike

Strangely, though the link now works, I get no audio.

Never heard it before, and it's such a short repetitive clip that it sounds like something composed for a transition.

Whoa! Now it works!

The tune is"I Can Whip the Scoundrel." Close also to Lomax's "Lulu." Probably there are other titles.

Thanks a lot, I'd been wondering about these for a while!

Tennessee Ernie Ford did a nice version of "I Can Whip the Scoundrel"

I've got a couple others to ask about now:

Not sure if this last one is a real song or just something written for the game.

Thanks a lot!
