Is it just me?

Literally less than two minutes since I turned it off on my phone. The last straw was when I intended to type "there are cafes" and actually typed "there ar e cafes". The phone "corrected" this to "there are excellent cafes".

Fixed it.

DMcG How are you? Haven't acknowledged one another since logic and science.
Was the toe dipping in metaphysics a deal breaker?

Admin. If possible could you change the thread title to
'Just sayin...'

Regarding e-mails

Many of you professionals out there are used to getting 400+ emails a day even with filters and 3 dozen protocols. I do not know how many e mils Hillary would get in a day but my guess is well over 1,000.

The average person might be surprised at how many emails one gets in a day.

Some IT pros recommend to gov employees to take e mails directly with personal apps and filters in place and then re route them thru central agency filters etc. It seems to be more efficient.

While this method does not involve a private server the outcome and auto deletions is similar.   Just sayin...

Donuel, thread titles are supposed to tell what's inside the thread, so people know whether to click or not. If you can come up with a more descriptive title, we'll change it.
    Just sayin'....

I'm doing fine, Donuel, thanks for asking. I haven't been avoiding you in the slightest, it's just chance. I was almost entirely 'offline' for nearly three weeks at a wedding in Mauritius, so that may have given the impression I had disappeared, but no, I am not got rid of that easily!

And how's yourself? PM if you prefer.

Well la di da. (smile)
To an American, Mauritius is very exrotic.
The people there are very pretty. The tourists are so so.

I am posting to mudcat via an automatic algorism THX 1139
I set preferences for 100% humor and 80% confrontory.
I wonder what the Spaw settings would be.

(persona change to manual default preferences)

Leenia The program I used could make different textures and colors until the puter died and transferring the program became a big hairy deal. It was Xeno Dream.

The story is that my son married a girl from Mauritius two years ago in the UK. However given the distances and costs involved only a few of her family were able to come. So they have just "married again" in her home village and a handful on my family were able to go. As you suggest, wonderful and welcoming people. It was a traditional Hindu wedding that took four days and around a thousand people were involved at various times.

That is the singular most beautiful story I have seen on the forum in years. In some social media, the story is at risk of envy, jealousy and resentment that such an experience is beyond the means of most people.
I think we all want to share in a paradise romp much more than the typical kvetching and schadenfreude in BS.

Like the Guam experiences we all enjoyed, you should chronicle and post fully about your experience when you are ready.

Donuel, I'm puzzled.    It's your word "exrotic".

Does that mean "formerly erotic"?

Or could it be "coming out of the erotic"?

Or "exotically erotic"?

Or perhaps "the erotic taken out"?

PLEASE tell me that it's not "just a typo"!

I sometimes combine words like erotic and exotic when meaning and similar sound allows. I find the people of Mauritius both desirable and its inhabitants enjoying a very exotic clime.
So I guess it could be exotically erotic. Language is a evolving living thing in which I play fast and loose. 15 years ago you could see the full impact of dyslexia upon my writing. Since then in the somewhat protected environment of BS I have worked with examples of effective writing and tech solutions to limit the unintended artifacts of dyslexia. While the condition is helpful with poetry it does nothing good for prose.

I will think about writing an account, Donuel, but I do agree it could easily be misunderstood in the ways you mention. Also, while writing formal reports is something I do a lot, entertainment value is not highly regarded in them, so I am not over confident I could write it well.

just stick to colors, scents and sounds and the emotion will take care of itself.

Anyone can google a Fodor's guide book but who can speak of dread, foolishness, surprise, pride, close calls and love? Only you, because you were there among funny folks, food, music, children and animals.

If nothing else it would make a nice anniversary gift behind a select photo, like a thank you note. Then again you could make a cultural faux pas and suffer dire consequences = just kidding. You are probably too risk averse for your own good, not that you should take ayahuasca and go sky diving.

Well, as a taster of that, I am attaching a video of the closing moments. Be warned the singing is dire. It is, however, heart-felt and genuine, which are qualities I value more highly. These are just some of Anoushka's cousins and they have not all been able to meet beforehand to rehearse anything. After the wedding was a party, with lots of her relatives singing or dancing. And this is the final bit where lots of them come together to wish the couple well. So here is a mix of the joy of the wedding (with some tears over that), plus the knowledge that Anoushka is shortly going back to the UK to resume her normal life. A good bit of colour, sound and emotion for you here.

The final

Sorry, YouTube blocked it because they were singing 'karaoke-style' to a copyrighted piece of music. Try this, but that is not a streaming server so it may have to cache the lot before it can start playing.

As one who quite often complains about thread drift, this is a bit irresponsible!

However, once you start it becomes addictive. Compare and contrast: UK

Mauritius

Perhaps a Mudelf can think of a suitable title change for the thread...

Spellchecks.

Aren't they used in Harry Potter?

I haven't compared and contrasted yet but the music is so incredibly authentic sounding it reminds me of soundtracks from the 30's.
I suppose that is because it is both live and alive.

Ah the decoration is so much more celebratory than my culture.
