BS: US Election (overnight withdrawals)

Some considerable time ago, I suggested that Mrs Clinton may announce her withdrawal from the contest(on "health grounds"); as that is now looking a distinct possibility, what would be the situation regarding a "reserve" and how do members think that it may affect the result?

Sorry.... I also think that if Mr Sanders were to "declare", he would win in the proverbial canter........Do you think this salient point has penetrated the psyche of the Democrat establishment?

Isn't politics a dirty business?

If you've ever been to NYC at this time of year you might understand how bloody hot and humid it is there; it's like walking through endless hot, wet towels.

These people are working long days, seven days a week and that takes its toll. She had an infection (which she would be more vulnerable to given her high workload) and unsurprisingly succumbed.

All this speculation about her health is ridiculous. I'd like to see most here try to keep up with any of the candidates.

Each party has provisions to cover such contingencies as death, illness, or simply quitting the campaign. Basically, another candidate would be chosen and fielded.

An interesting question is what happens if an elected candidate drops dead before the VP candidate is sworn in. The VP-elect can't succeed because s/he hasn't been sworn in. Perhaps it would go to the Speaker of the House. I don't know.

Why should a bacterial or viral infection, which can affect any and every human being on the planet, which is treatable, and from which an otherwise healthy sufferer almost always makes a full recovery, render HC 'unfit' or 'unsuitable' for election (as is being suggested by the media today, presumably driven by The Ginger Tosser's campaign management)?

The fact that she's even continuing to campaign when she has pneumonia shows she is as tough as old boots. Sheesh, whatever happened to a bit of compassion for someone poorly?

Ake, pay attention to Stu and Backwoodsman. They live in this dimension. Mike (she'd probably love the "old boots" reference.

The VP is sworn in first, so he's ready if the president-elect drops dead at the podium

I'm inclined to believe bearded Bruce's links to the NYT and HP which conclude its murky.

However old boots is made of tough stock and would not likely pull a   Henry Harrison. 'God Save Our President From Every Harm' , is a song that was hastily released. I have the decorative sheet music. The only other place I have seen it was at the Smithsonian.

Oh I've been paying attention a lot longer than many on this forum Mike. I don't know if the illness is serious....and certainly hope not, but it could be a convenient way of allowing or forcing the candidate to step down "in the national interest.

The Democratic Party is not above corruption and political chicanery as was illustrated by their vendetta against Mr Sanders.

Their approved candidate has proved to be a very bad call....crass stupidity, when Mr Sanders numbers against Mr Trump were so much better than Mrs Clinton's.

The knives are out!

"If Clinton is elected in November and has to step aside before the inauguration in January, the 20th Amendment stipulates that the vice president-elect — in that case, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine — would succeed to the presidency."

The last link provided is approved by King Jesus but at least it is not an unabashed alt Nazi right website, to the best of my knowledge.

Alan Sorkin already explored the possibility of an ill President in detail in his work 'The West Wing'.

It seems nothing Hillary did came even close to the Bush Pretzel incident.

Medical records will be redacted and released.

What the conservatives hope to uncover is Hillary's gynecological record and you can imagine what their holy grail is.

What the democrats hope to uncover is Trump's tax records.

PS
If anyone agrees that everything /anything is legal in war, they self justify the deplorable ideals of a madman like Hitler.

Do you have the right to invade the medical privacy of candidates? What about tax information?

While I am anti Nazi, anti Neo Nazi or anti Alt Right I am a total hypocrite. You see, I live in a country that for the last 10 Presidents all of our citizens including the rest of the world are all deemed disposable people and collateral damage under a system called Mutual Assured Destruction.

Every time someone says 'everything is on the table' we are all reminded of M.A.D.

You may even call me a bigot for hating Nazis. Call me unpatriotic for not supporting mutually assured destruction.

People who do support and expect MAD are called peppers and Trump deplorable, disposable, death slaves. That is all of us, willing or not.

They say it because they mean it, listen to Trump surrogate on war and the new rules of engagement by the master.

As has been noted, this discussion is distasteful and ignorant; the ill-disguised glee of some appears premature.

As Lawrence O'Donnell said last evening, the health of nominees and candidates has never been a serious issue in any presidential election. That, he emphasized, is why we have a VICE president: when a president is unable to continue, the VP takes over.

There are policies and procedures in place if a presidential nominee steps aside before the oath of office. I suggest that the gleeful await developments.

I will likely never understand how certain minds work. The political right wing objected to First Lady Michelle baring her arms in her gowns- but they are OK with having a naked woman splashed over the tabloids.

And, no. I won't be visiting the Trump website.

Ake, you would criticize Dave Barry for being funny.

I am shocked Shocked, that there is gambling in Trump Casinos!

Trump is the landlord for undocumented models. Conditions are horrible. Not all these models make the runway. Through silent partners Trump is a pornographer. You might say he is barely legal.

Hillary was given Levaquin instead of Zithromax.

Levaquin is a broad spectrum antibiotic whose main ingredient is the toxic poison Fluoride. Rat poison contains FL. A side effect of Levaquin is possible joint damage.

Zithromax is just as effective to cure pneumonia but there are 47 out of a million cardiac deaths. With Hillary throwing 3 blood clots, this may be the reason for Levaquin.

Or not.

The odds of dying between 65-75 is basically I in 5 20%

But for a women it is closer to 1 in 6 which is like rolling doubles.

Since Hilary is two years younger her chances of out surviving Donald is good.
