memories of DEAL maritime folk fest

Just returned from a weekend at Deal in Kent where they do a festival each year raising money for the RNLI. Its well supported locally.

My best memories are of a concert in the café at the end of the pier when the heavens opened - wind; rain; thunder and lightening; sea rushing below the pier at a good rate of knots and the windows of the café feeling somewhat insecure - and the band played on.

I wondered what are the best memories other people have of this festival.

Singing lifeboat songs in the lifeboat shed. (Actually, that's always very special whichever lifeboat shed we're in.)

The acoustics are surprisingly good in the shed.
