Has anyone been watching David Starkey's Music and Monarchy? It was on BBC4. I guess it will be repeated soon. I missed the start of it but the last half hour was wonderful.

Oops

If the mods are at all interested the title should have read

David Starkey's Music and Monarchy.

Correction would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fixed, but best to contact me directly for music section edits. We can't read all the threads, all the time.

It's on again tonight at 30 minutes past midnight on BBC4. Music by Thomas Tallis, William Byrd and John Dowland. Also something written by King Henry V and lots more.

The man Starkey is a notorious, often outrageous rightwinger- entitled to an opinion of course, but best to be aware of that.

This is a particularly robust series, IMHO. Well worth watching if only for the performances - the best the BEEB could buy. First b'cast 2013 - the four eps are available on YouTube...

Starkey is not one of my favourite historians. Far too right-wing.
