A SERIES OF 13 RADIO BROADCASTS

Originally aired on the BBC World Service.

Stefan says: "In this series of radio broadcasts I add my guitar playing with talk and records to illustrate some of the ideas, approaches and concepts in fingerpicking guitar.

"Bottleneck Styles and Techniques in Open G and D Tunings, Crossnote Tuning, Blues in E, Raggin' The Blues, Blues From The Carolinas, The Guitar Of Rev. Gary Davis, Sophisticated Blues, Texas Blues and Atlanta Blues are some of the areas discussed."

BUT ... the whole series is a mere 6MB for each episode. That's a very low bit rate for music. If interested I suppose one could always email the organisation and request higher bit rates. But my guitar playing days are long over.

However there was a great story told by Grossman on 'Country Meets Folk' (or something).

This was that he worked out a really good riff for folk. It was quite leisurely. He recorded it. Then he released a really speeded up version and waited to see what would happen. Apparently some keen guys took this really fast picking syle to heart, learnt it, practiced it, and created a whole new generation of manically fast guitar players!!
