My father had leg ulcers in old age as a result of his circulation failing; they took a bit of an artery out of his groin and reattached it in his leg and the ulcers healed. A friend had ulcers on her ankles which proved, when she left them too long, to be a fatal skin cancer. |

22 Apr 17 - 02:54 PM (#3851888) Subject: RE: BS: Leg ulcers and treatment thereof From: Bonzo3legs Well my wife was admitted to hospital 10 days ago for emergency debridement surgery and serious intravenous antibiotics - had 2 sessions now, and since yesterday has a Vaccuum Assisted Suction dressing on both legs, connected to an electronic pump which sucks out exudate and other gunge which hitherto has gathered around and infected the ulcerated area. Now the funy thing is, and nobody thought of this at time of putting on the suction dressings, she can't take off her knickers because of the arrangement of tubing from the dressings into a Y connector an then into the pump!!!!!! As to "the doctor", our NHS GP practice have been frankly useless. Thank goodness we have private medical insurance! |

It sounds as if she's had a very bad time (and you too, worrying about her) I expect she'll have to cut those knickers off, and consign them to the bin! |
