BS: A Trump Abroad

You can't say that the current leader of the Free World isn't ambitious on his first trip overseas as President. I awoke early to listen to NPR broadcast his words to an assembled audience of world Muslim leaders in Saudi Arabia. He delivered his version of the address that Obama delivered in Egypt in his first term. The big departure seemed to be his mentioning of Iran in demonization mode. I'm going to look for some on-line Islamic periodicals to see how the speech was received.

And from Saudi, where is he going? Israel next! Wonder if he'll remember not to call it The Wailing Wall?

He's telling the Saudis what they want to hear, hey, business is business.

When he packed his bags for this trip he made sure to throw in his
hypocrisy.

A commentator on NPR remarked that this speech could have been given by Barack Obama or George W. Bush. Trump said nothing outrageous, and I think that's good. The commentator thinks this means that Trump's moderate advisors are winning out over the right-wing extremists. We've been hearing less and less from Steve Bannon, and I can't help but think that's a good thing.

Wonderful display of the 'Two Faces of Donald Duck' on Irish television yesterday
They to his present demands that the "Holy countries of Islam" should unite in opposition to Isis, and contrasted it with is Islamophobic rantings and promises to close America to all Muslims, during the election.
Politics at its very best

He is behaving just like any other politician would in similar circumstances. No big deal.

Just to add a little balance and confirm what I stated above:

" No big deal."
Only if to accept the behaviour of our politicians Iains
The fact that other politicians are shysters and hypocrites doesn't make that behavior right
We elect these bastards on promises then never keep - are you happy with that?
Can't see any "balance" in your link
We have always known that Britain has always turned the other way when it comes to Saudi behaviour
Cameron opened a massive arms fair to sell arms to States like S A as Arabs were demanding freedom of speech from those regimes.
He went to pay homage to the father of the present dynasty while a journailst was being administered 1000 lashes for speaking out of turn.
Under Tory leadership, starting with Mrs T, Britain has become little more than America's poodle and a lickspittle for repressive regimes because we need the custom for our arms and their oil

Détente is required both with the Arabs, the Israeli's and the Russians, Donal John has shown that he is not hindered by political ideology the man is a pragmatist.

Given a chance I think he will make America a better place and the world a safer place.
I never thought change would come through the ideological left, that way lies real division and perhaps civil war.

Possible, but then it might also be the fact the Russkies have film of him getting his yah-yah's by being piddled on by prostitutes and he HAS to be nice to them.

Trump's diplomacy (whoever's actually dictating it, presumably not Trump himself) looks to be the most murderous US intervention in foreign affairs since Henry Ford put Hitler into power.

His speech will interpreted by his hosts as all-out, no-questions-asked backing for genocidal war against Shiism. Hence the explicit staement that the US has no problems with the repressive regime in Bahrain, and more importantly, he's equipping the Saudis to exterminate the Shiite population of Yemen, where millions are at risk of famine. And beyond that, he wants to start a proxy war with Iran.

The result is going to be millions dead, far worse than the Holocaust.

Nor is he hindered by intelligence or fact or truth. What a guy!

The bar is so low for the old clown that this trip will be considered a triumph if he doesn't grab some dignitaries wife by the lady parts.
We have a sad history of forming alliances with murderous thugs like Putin but it looks like those days are over, much to Twit's chagrin. Putin may not be blackmailing him for the golden showers but he may have something on him for his long history of dealing with shady Russian
"businessmen" or for possible collusion during the campaign.

In prepping him for this trip it looks like his staff forgot to inform Twit that Israel is in the Middle East:

But the POTUS may not be the most clueless member of his administration. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who was caught napping on camera during Twit's speech on Sunday, noted that there were no protests in Saudi Arabia, a police state with a tradition of using violence against dissenters:

Note that Joyce Carol Oates tweeted in response, "Not a single hint of a protester in Auschwitz, most days."
