He spent 32% of his life in prison. Sometimes it's just not worth it to be evil.

Trump might argue with that.......

Yeah, but Trump doesn't have 32% of his life left. Well, I hope not, anyway .....

No, actually, I don't much care - as long as he spends only a miniscule percentage of it in office.

If Noriega was such a nasty piece of work I wonder why the CIA snuggled up to him for so many years? He was also the most famous graduate of the school of the Americas. This was later given a cosmetic name change no doubt for the same underlying reasons that Windscale was transmogrified to Sellafield in the UK. Perhaps Noriega should have tried the same magic and put himself on the side of the angels. Sadly operation Nifty Package did a wall of Jericho number on him instead.

I remember some of the young US troops who were witness to the killing of Panamanian citizens being sworn to secrecy under threat of prosecution.

No one should ever stand between US drug interests and supply.
Mannie thought he could. George HW bush showed him.

Trump however does not know the difference between Columbian coco supply and Columbian coca supply.

Lest we forget, this detestable man was propped up by the US for many years, just one of many. They turned a blind eye to his drugs operations and corruption because he was too useful, being a vital supply link to the contras and assisting in US interference in El Salvador. If you're useful to the US your morals don't matter. One of the main lessons of 20th century history, continuing today in the Middle East with scumbags such as Netanyahu and his predecessors. Heaven help you though if you're a democrat but with left-wing tendencies.

Yeah, Steve, ya gotta love old Iran/Contra Ronnie Reagan - especially now since the Trumpistas are trying to re-institute his voodoo economics (and his foreign policy!) even tho its been proven several times over that its worthless bullshit.

Poor old George Santayana..............

Hmmm, I had a post about this, it done gone.

I remember the invasion of Panama, I was horrified. As an embassy brat, especially, it seemed to me that you can't invade countries because of the way they treat your citizens when they are there. Mexico can't invade us over the way we treat Mexicans, after all.

As a former CIA director and VP for the Iran contra deal GHW Bush knew the international coke business well and would not be cut out. Is there anything wrong with that? When US Presidents abdicated their role as the global drug king pin it made for a number of billionaire drug lord wannabees and cartels.

The whole affair did succeed in nearly doubling the number of US blacks in jail. That's pretty evil too .
Intentional? It's debatable.
