Bristol folk clubs?

Rika Ruebsaat and I are visiting Bristol in April. We'd like to do a floor-singing spot (if those kind of things still go on). Can mudcatters give any advice on folk clubs in that fair city?

Hello Jon.
I don't know round there.
The Folk Music Map lists a few though some info might be two or three years old now:

Nailsea Folk Club Singers Nights
Folk Club / Regular Event

Chipping Sodbury Folk Night
Folk Club / Regular Event

Saltcellar Folk Club
Folk Club / Regular Event

Downend Folk Club
Folk Club / Regular Event

Nova Scotia Folk Club
Folk Club / Regular Event

Golden Guinea English/mixed session
Folk Club / Regular Event

Dragon Folk Club
Folk Club / Regular Event Map

find the links on the map

Mr Red will probably be along soon with a better link but...
Here's a link to one of his pages as a starter.
Should be the clubs page:

The Nova Scotia still have an updated website for 2018 so is a good bet. Every Monday.

I'd also mention the Nova Scotia. I was in Bristol some years back and they were enormously welcoming and friendly

Yes, Nick.
I've found them very welcoming as well, but petrol cost from Cardiff, plus the Bridge toll on the way home . . .
Maybe I'll pop over again soon. The Severn Bridge tolls are due to be removed this year.

The last club I sang in was Ewan & Peggy's sometime I believe in 1980. Are the clubs today the same format? i.e. a guest and floor singers? Or am I VERY old fashioned?

Some do, some don't. If getting a spot is important to you then it is advisable to check with the organiser before travelling.
