BS: An apology request

14 May 18 - 12:57 PM (#3924396)
Subject: BS: An apology request granted
From: Donuel

In 18 years of more or less blogging on BS, I have had fewer than 4 requests. I have only now been asked to make a 'humble' apology for tying bearded bruce to the alt right.

I have probably made dozens of apologies over the years but never has it been demanded that it be humble. So I decided to explore the word humble and found that the word was most popular in the 1800's and its usage has dropped by 90% today.

So I hereby provide and deliver a simple apology to all involved for stating an opinion containing a probable falsehood regarding bearded bruce.

I exclude any humble or        meek, deferential, submissive, diffident, self-effacing, unassertive, proud, overbearing
(of an action or thought) offered with or affected by a modest estimate of one's own importance belonging to low social, administrative, or political rank of lowly, working-class, lower-class, poor, undistinguished, mean, modest, ignoble, low-born, plebeian, underprivileged of modest pretensions or dimensions.
But instead offer a plain, simple, ordinary, unostentatious, unpretentious apology.

Humble though I may be, it is a bridge to far for me to cross to provide, in the sense of the word a "humble", apology.

" for stating an opinion containing a probable falsehood regarding bearded bruce."

Your comment WAS FALSE, as I stated in my request. How much proof do you need?

You SHOULD work on the humble a bit.

Well - it is quite an insult to be accused of being connected with the 'alt-right' - I would demand an apology too!

IMNSHO I would be content to deliver a cogent repost, to any false accusation.

I have been lumped in with UK left (colour is a sartorial affectation) and right (UK blue) in various situations. It is the halo effect engendered by pointing-out something that the recipient disagrees with (or hasn't heard of).

But, my philosophy is to address the issue and not the person so maybe I have avoided labeling people, who knows? Life is too short to worry. I offer blanket apologies to anyone sensitive enough to misread my posts. But maintain the intent is always honorable, even if the English is not perfect.

But humble? You ain't getting it from me.

I'd rather be right than Right, per se

If Bruce is a follower of that orange shit stain in the Oval Office, then he deserves to be painted with the same brush as the alt right and the rest of those Nazis.

Amerigin,

IN THIS CASE Donual said that I supported insurrection by ignoring the Federal laws.

I HAD PREVIOUSLY STATED IN THE THREAD THAT I THOUGHT THAT WAS WRONG.

"My OPINION is that parts of a larger whole do NOT have the right to dispute ( except in court) laws of the larger. BOTH are invalid, and should lead to charges of insurrection. Witness the Civil Rights rulings."

HIS post said that I supported what I had stated I did NOT!!!!!!

As for your post above, stick your head back up your ass where you obviously have been keeping it.

In some things- sometimes you are to my left, sometimes to my right.

But Amergin's 15 May 18 - 01:33 PM post is an example of the worst of the Left- almost exactly what the alt-right is saying. Birds of a feather? Go far enough in one direction and you meet at the other side.

If it was not that the alt-right shaved their heads, and the antifa wore masks, would any of us be able to tell them apart, from their actions?

I have not seen the actual words I was purported to have written and probably never will, but it doesn't matter. If someone asks me for something I am able to provide I will by all means give it.
Naturally there will always be a wide gulf between bb as a developer of more weapons than he can throw and myself as a psychonaut and cultivator of more Amazonian psilocybin than I can lift. Our thinking diverged long ago. Truth is we probably all require a little bit of both bb and Donuel.

still...

I bet more people would venture to experience my wares than bb's weapons.

I whole heartedly believe the mushrooms are an unequaled societal good for religious, scientific, psychological and political reasons.

It is second only to the power of love.

All the ingredients are legal. Only the placemebt of myceillium in sterilized grain is legislated against.

The spores are available from Hawaii 'for identification only'

Amazonia strain is merely the largest fruit. There are many varieties

100-200 dollars buys all the ingredents for an initial investment that becomes self sustaining thereafter. The investment in time is six to ten hours.

Surprisingly the eating of these mushrooms is desired extremely infrequently and is the farthest thing from habit forming.

bobad, my mass cultivation days are 20 years behind me. Now I am thinking my son may benefit in his treatment for depression.
These mushrooms eradicate unreasonable fear.

Don, there is a growing body of evidence for the efficacy of psilocybin in the treatment of depression, it is said to reboot or reset the depressed brain. I have a good friend who was in the divine mushroom cultivation business but that too was many years ago. It has been a good while since I have indulged in psychedelics but I recently find myself thinking that I wouldn't mind taking the occasional trip again - that might have something to do with the knowledge that I am closer to the end of my long strange trip than the beginning.

I find the magic in magic mushrooms is that it steers an enormous consciousness exactly where it needs go, or to the exact question you pose.

IT SORT OF FREES ONE to the confines of spacetime.

or it can be silly like gossiping galaxies or produce an ineffable Mayan image of a chrome mandala face. You think South American civilizations were influenced by this food of the gods in their writing and legends ? Now I do.
I once asked 20 years ago for a power source and floating in midair was a graphic image of hydrogen in lithium.

Joe would be interested in the study of psilocybin by young priests.

You might be surprised how many popular creative writers use p as a key.

If one grows it
it is only a season away.

I'll just mention that local west country Liberty Cap mushrooms
f@cked up my brain and personality.
from age 19 to mid 20s..

Similar happened to other kids in my social group of brave bold irresponsible teenage experimentalists...
At least one suffering severe irreversible mental health problems.

I would suggest a caveat that these substances should only be used by mature adults
with fully formed brain growth and well established sense of identity...
and only under safe responsible conditions...???

lbms Little brown mushrooms should be shunned. White, blue bruising shrooms are best. Having experiences only after my late 20's I can not comment on earlier use. However the four to six hour alteration of consciousness are deemed to be safe and non toxic, entirely dissimilar to LSD.
pfr's caveat is respectfully understood. The pre frontal cortex does not mature and stop growing until age 21 - 23.

You could say that a mushroom-eater is a fungi to be with. But IME they are as likely to affect their brains long term as not.

Standing from a position of sobriety** and observing that is.

But medicating with a toad's tool - is an experiment.

**relative. Excepting a modicum of apple juice that has been exposed to a little yeasty fungus.

Me and my mates only played with liberty caps - mixing with the more common cannabis and booze - when we were 18 - 19.
But experienced adverse consequences
of palpitations, anxiety attacks, paranoia, self doubt, uncertain sense of identity,
far worse than usual during 'normal' adolescent personality development..

..which I continued to experience for years later...

It is advisable not to look in a full length mirror when off your head on mushrooms...

Of course no one warned us of any of this...

..oh yeah.. and think of normal teenage depression, and magnify the intensity until unbearable...

Mind you, the few good times on mushrooms were absolutely magic...

From 17 to 21 my motto was..

If I can smoke, eat, or drink it, I'll have a go...
But I won't snort or inject...
Dope and mushrooms are natural and grow from the earth, they are ok
Chemicals are to be avoided...

Luckily, our late 1970s small town social scene had not yet been infected by hard drugs,
so we were innocently isolated/insulated from that abject despair...

After 21 I completely packed in the druggie culture for my own well being,
because I'd moved to a big city and had my eyes opened to real reality......
