dont stop me now guitar solo notation

Does anyone know where I can find the notation for the above Queen song? There's plenty of Tab but I need standard notation. Cheers!

Why do you need notation, surely you listen to the record then work it out on guitar!

Or perhaps convert your tab Tab to notes

Bonzo, if I'd wanted to do that I wouldn't have started the thread, would I?
Go and do something useful.

I've never needed "guitar notation" in 55 years of guitar playing!!!

Bonz - the swotty posh type kids who used to play classical music at school have now taken over rock music...

Look - everyone can do something others can't, nothing clever about it at all, and nothing wrong with stating that you can do something. I can't play golf, I tried but I couldn't hit the ball, it doesn't bother me at all. So there you go!!!

years ago i learned from tab its ok,but if you can learn by ear, in the long term its better, rarely do i agree with bonzo but in principle he is right

Ho hum. Predictable responses from those too dumb to learn to read music and reduced to mocking real musicians.

How do you know they cannot read music.
The Sandman is a real musician, and can read music apparently he played in a Concertina Quartet playing classical music.

Rewster sounds like a complete bellend...

...of course, he might not be.. he is a GUEST mudcatter after all..........

I went to Grammar School and had music theory forced on me from week one
by a very unforgiving ex-army music teacher,
who was bitter that he never made it as a Jazz musician in Paris after the war.
He took it out on us 11 year old boys...

so shove that up yer bass clef...

Thank the music gods for electric guitars and fuzz boxes...

btw... if this thread is about Brian May's solo

it's dead easy to work out by ear,
and even less effort if the fingering on this video is exactly as recorded...

It's not one of his more demanding solos.

Even I could play a run through after a short concentration of trial and error...

Rewster, as our resident punkfolkrocker has pointed out you haven't made it clear exactly what you want.

It could be a transcription of the lead guitar solo, as Pfr suggested, a version of the song as a guitar solo instrumental or a guitar accompaniment for you or someone else to sing to. All perfectly doable. I could do all three but I don't want to do more than one of them.

You probably already know that this is a folk/blues forum and a Queen song is, generically, a long way from the center.

In this genre it is not unusual for someone who calls himself a musician to be able to produce their own arrangements 'by ear'. That's how I learned to play over fifty years ago. By about thirty or forty years ago I had taught myself to read and write notation. It's a useful skill in this genre and I am sure that many people here can both play by ear and read and write notation. Hence the threads on ABC and Lilypond.

Ask nicely, be specific in what you want and somebody, maybe even me, might come up with the goods.

As for the raspberries, take them with a pinch of salt.

Learning to play by ear takes just as much time and effort as learning to play from notation. It takes practice and unless you're used to doing it it's actually very difficult.

The OP's request was a reasonable one.

I agree it's worth finding some software to convert tab into dots as a lot of guitar riffs are available online as tab and if you prefer notation, suitable software can save time over laboriously transcribing by hand.

I saw them in 1973 and then shared a place in London with a girl whose boyfriend engineered one of their albums.

I can read music but have never been any good at reading time - I can play in time but not read it in real time from sheet music. I guess that means I can't read music. I presume I should learn one day but not sure if I ever will.

But I can definitely play by ear and in time and am reasonably good at working out harmonic structure and notes in real time. So I get by. And I realise not everyone can. So I just accept that I am stuck where I am unless I make a huge effort and that I will always try and help if I can...

This thread has reminded me I have a small device
that fairly accurately captures monophonic guitar melody lines as midi,
which can then be converted to notation....

Something else now on the list to find and check for leaking batteries...

Just rethinking - I think that most versions of guitar pro (4 or 5 upwards) will create standard notation from tab. And I think reaper will do it too though I haven't tried apart from a keyboard midi file.

And Power tab 2 I think would give you what you want. Just google it and it's free

Hi, Rewster. When I saw the title of your thread, I discovered that the musical phrase "Don't Stop Me Now" was running through my head, and that surprised me, because I don't listen to rock.

Then I realized that the song is playing during one of my favorite videos, one that I turn to to cheer me up when I'm down. See if you like it:

I chose not to tell my parents
