Plagiarism: 'Apache' & 'Metamorphosis'

I've searched for this online, but no hits worth anything. Am I really the first person to document the striking similarity between Jerry Lordan's 'Apache', a big hit for the Shadows in 1960 which has since become something of a legendary recording, and Philip Glass' 'Metamorphosis #3', apparently 'composed' in 1988?

Well, listening to your YouTube link, I would say that they sound bugger all the same. Especially around 9:15.

Is this a wind-up?

Certainly not. I was listening to the Philip Glass thinking: "Where have I heard this before?" It was a while before it came to me. I can hear the similarity, even if you can't.

Yeah - the similarity is in the alternating F#m and D chords.

Thanks, I'm glad that at least one other can hear it too.

For doubter Ed's benefit, try comparing a few seconds starting at Apache 0:40 and Metamorphosis 9:15.
