They weren't a major success in the UK but when I was in Canada in 1964 their recording of 'Yesterday's Gone' seemed to be on the radio all the time. He has since then appeared in many films and television plays. |

Pat Boone made a few forgettable movies , one a remake of STATE FAIR, in the original of which another "Pop" Star , Dick Haymes , had appeared in the same role. Sal Mineo was in REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and where do we leave Elvis ?? |

And how about "boot on the other foot", actors becoming pop stars, e.g. Mamma Mia, Sunshine on Leith? And currently circulating on Facebook, Alan Cumming singing Dougie Maclean's "Caledonia" - and very nicely too! Alex James (Blur) became a cheesemaker, journalist and Classic FM broadcaster. |

I have two CDs recorded by actors who played in Coronation Street on UK TV. In told that one of my favourite voices, Sarah Brightman, once sang Pop.
