On predictit.org out of New Zealand one may gamble on politics.
Impeachment by the House at 71% and by the the Senate 17%
When you lock in at a current % , and you win , you get 100%

What and who people are betting on is surprising

How to make politics pay? Ask the Murdochs, the Rothermeres, the Barclay Brothers, Tony Blair, David Cameron, Nigel Farage, or any member of the ERG Group.

I agree with Oliver - all gambling should be illegal (Cromwell, that is). My poem on "An Opium"

If you want to know how to make politics pay in the UK ask that sleazebag Labour MP Jared O'Mara, he doesn't attend the house, he doesn't meet his constituents, in fact the twat does nothing at all except draw his parliamentry pay, he keeps saying he will resign but never does cos he still gets his pay for doing fuck all.

I know many won't agree with me, but I don't think politicians work primarily for pay, or that they're particularly susceptible to bribery. I think most politicians are very loyal to their political beliefs. If they get a little money on the side, all the better. But I think most politicians follow the ideology they believe in.

I think that's true of most politicians but too many see public service as a stepping stone to more lucrative careers in the private sector. Then we have that thoroughly corrupt asshole in the White House who will accept a bribe in any form that it's offered. The reason he's fighting so hard to stay in office is that he knows what's waiting for him as a private citizen and he desperately wants that get out of jail free card.

Sorry.

Or become an unsuccessful leader of the Labour Party, then get elected to the EU Commission and retire with a £10,000,000 retirement pot.

Trump is the exception - his measure of self-worth is how much money and power he can accumulate. But for most people, money just isn't a very good motivator. Ideology, which can be almost a form of tribalism, can be an excellent motivator. For most people, "our side won" is a more effective motivator than accumulating more money that one could ever spend. But ideological tribalism can be just as deadly, as lust for money.

Lindsey Graham chuckled about Bernie's heart attack and said that the majority of Trump's base believes it is fine for Donald to buy dirt (with taxpayer $) about political opponents from our galactic overlords or even Andromedan despots.

The Supream Court is expected to wait until Ginsberg's passing before voting to make the Constitution non binding and become advisory only.

Long shots are not good bets like...

Trump will achieve full UFO disclosure leaving the Pentagon and CIA out of the loop.

Trump orders the execution of all extraterrestrial immigrants even if they have been here for 70,000 years.

Trump is not the exception, he is the extreme.the percentage of crooked congressmen is likely proportional to the amount of crooked Americans and of course that corruption is variable from soul to soul.
Someone asked Abraham Lincoln why there were so many crooks in congress and he replied, "You can't dip clear water from a muddy stream."

There's no doubt that money plays a part in politics, but I think we are dangerously mislead if we see it as a more powerful motivator than ideology. It is the ideologues, who are far more dangerous.
As for Trump, he's a rare one. His only motivator is self-interest. He has no political beliefs.

You have to admit that sports is political and sports betting is huge. Remember the Berlin olympics and now the NBA and China?
In my opinion betting only survives because betters lose most the time. Yet most betting people believe they have a better predictor than the next guy.

Will the US Constitution survive? Now thats a good bet.
