We spoke many times of his travels in Europe, mostly in Germany. His brother Jeremy has since edited his book and published it. Jack has gone to Germany to busk and work as a one-man band. He loses everything when he's attacked and left for dead at the side of the road. After a stay in hospital, he's overwhelmed by the kindness of a pair of young doctors who offer him a place to stay and recuperate over the harsh German winter. He soon finds himself absorbed into a welcoming community and meeting a woman who he adores. Not all is harmonious in the village though. A group of Neo-Nazis are menacing a refugee hostel, ultimately leading to tragic consequences. Jack becomes involved as the community unites to fight the menace in their midst. I knew the name on Mudcat but he seems to have had a lot of interests in various musical directions. I'm glad Gary and Alan connected. (RIP both of them now.)
