I was saddened today to learn Alan recently passed. He was a Mudcatter of note from England. We spoke many times of his travels in Europe, mostly in Germany. His brother Jeremy has since edited his book and published it. I look forward to reading it.

Thanks, gnu. I daresay Jeremy or someone needs to post a blurb or a review at that link. When I tried it, there was literally no clue what sort of book it is or what the book is about.

Just scroll down the page to find a description. It appears to be novel.

Patty C ....It is there ... However, I missed it too the first time.

. Jack has gone to Germany to busk and work as a one-man band. He loses everything when he's attacked and left for dead at the side of the road. After a stay in hospital, he's overwhelmed by the kindness of a pair of young doctors who offer him a place to stay and recuperate over the harsh German winter. He soon finds himself absorbed into a welcoming community and meeting a woman who he adores.
Not all is harmonious in the village though. A group of Neo-Nazis are menacing a refugee hostel, ultimately leading to tragic consequences. Jack becomes involved as the community unites to fight the menace in their midst.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

What a kind thing for a brother to do.

Pulling up a couple of gnu's "above the line" music posts and this one is a surprise - because looking into Alan Moorhouse is an eye-opener. I knew the name on Mudcat but he seems to have had a lot of interests in various musical directions. I'm glad Gary and Alan connected. (RIP both of them now.) Also - more about Alan on his old Facebook page.
