BS: FAST & FURIOUS

Subject: BS: F A S T & FURIOUS
From: robomatic

I am going through a psyke-crisis deciding whether I can can accept an invitation to "F9" without having seen the previous eight. So I am creating a thread with the theme of "Fast & Furious". Not the movies. Anything you think applies to fast & furious.
Do be it known: Once this is my created thread and i have Not seen any of the flicks, Until i do, i am going to tear a Leaf out of one of our fellow forum members, similar to a former American President who is legally able to run again, and post anything I please about the movies. I am snobbishly proud of my addiction to truth, justice and the American Way in other threads. Herein I absolve myself of this sordid affectation. If I post about F & F, it may be true, and it may not.

There have been EIGHT "Fast & Furious" movies. I don't know if they are based on a story line in which you have to be aware of some overall developing plot or continuing theme. And without knowing anything by choice, I believe there are actors who are in all of the previous flicks. Vin Diesel comes to mind (and let's ignore the irony of an actor with the last name of an internal combustion engine not known as being fast nor furious but rather: heavy, reliable, and efficient, but the series isn't called: "Moderate and High Torque"). Moreover, even if the themes aren't continuous, how about character developmment? And let's say those of you in the know are chuckling over the notion of character memes in a F&F movie, the very notion you CAN chuckle and I can't means there are valuable negative associations I haven't been able to pick up.

So what doth it profit a man to show up to the ninth innings of a game whose previous eight had much to offer, or little to offer. The existing watchers have invested their time and presumably some of their attention when they could look up from their iPhones.

I haven't seen any. Don't buck the trend - don't see this one either. :)

F&F this end is the brand name of Tesco's clothing. I have three excellent F&F floral shirts that are in good-quality pure cotton and which cost me twelve quid each. What doth it profit a man to buy £29.50 M&S shirts and eschew the twelve-quid F&F offerings?

If you've seen eight episodes of bad stuff does it mean you should not see the ninth? Even if it's a high grossing phenom? And am I being unfair because in fact I have NOT seen the eight episodes of 'what, really'?

I am influenced because I did not see any of the Tom Cruise Mission Impossible flicks until about three years ago when friends took me to the one where he defuses TWO nuclear bombs placed within MILES of each other (in which case, WHY, What's the point?). I was seen looking at my watch ten minutes into that disaster flick and almost never invited out to a movie that I didn't have to pay for ever again.

It wasn't the worst movie ever. For that I have to credit Wonder Woman part DEUX. I wonder why I thought I had to see Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig in the same movie? It didn't make me a better person!

Anyhow, I'm quite prepared to believe that F & F would be a better movie than any of the above. And I'm prepared to believe that it might be a better shirt though Steve Shaw did not provide links. But I'm not yet prepared to wear this movie.

Oh, same friends went ahead and talked about going to see "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" in front of me without inviting me. So the curse lives on. But that's the kind of thing they're into.

Links would be useless as Tesco have a terrible website and only sell their shirts instore. Annoying but somehow charmingly quaint.

This latest film in the series, I hear,
includes Dame Helen Mirren in the cast.
I hope she was well paid.

I've seen brief Instagram ads for the Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard and can't make any sense of it though I think I might have seen a couple of the actors in other things. But I can't remember who it was. Spend the ticket money on something like a nice bottle of Scotch or a bottle of wine. Have a drink at home, enjoy your own company, maybe read a book or turn on Netflix or your DVD player and watch a repeat of a movie you really do enjoy.

Still, I guess the bottle would help.

If you have not seen F9, believe me you have. It is better than Rocky 49 though. As for the 'psyke crises' that is not new either.

Now to be clear DTL, you are speaking as if you actually saw F9. Did you, in fact, see it? I'm not interested in your neartruth revelatory epistomology. DID YOU SEE THE MOVIE?

I just got a briefing on F9 (why it isn't F&F9 or FAF9 I have no idea). I don't think it's a spoiler alert that among the scenes is one of the sports car drivers, in their sports car, in space! So maybe I gotta see it. Mind you, the guy who told me about it was a friend who purposely did not invite me because of all the time I spent looking at my watch when we were watching the latest Mission Impossible, the one with the two nukes. anyhow, he is a fan of non stop action which does not do it for me when there is little or no story to tie it together.

Heh heh
They can be devestating or ignored.

A new PBS documentary on Jerusalem is called 'Faith and Fury'
possibly after the action movies.

The concept of the remake and franchise movies are on the lazy side.
I'm glad whenever a movie stands alone. I don't want a 'Titanic Two'
or '2011 the Prequel'.

X-Men Magneto has officially re-instated President Trump President.
Magneto and Wolverine also say that the vaccine does magnetize the human body but on the plus side interfers with the Bill Gates Microchips.
Rumors fly Fast and Furious that Donald Trump is an X-Man but the nature of his mutant super powers remain secret, says Steve Bannon.

(robo calls my cartoons misinformation, perhaps he can't tell the difference)

Charm (symbol C) is a flavour quantum number representing the difference between the number of charm quarks ( ) and charm antiquarks ( ) that are present in a particle: By convention, the sign of flavour quantum numbers agree with the sign of the electric charge carried by the quarks of corresponding flavour. Without charm we would be goo.
