Launched in 1993, the Celtic Roots Festival was founded by a couple of high school teachers who wanted to promote vernacular acoustic music in the community while adding a major tourist draw. I have attended the college almost every year since 2000, and the festival most years. It's always a good time, especially for families, and the music instruction -- particularly strong for fiddlers and people who play things with strings and frets -- is always excellent.
