BS: Figure this Out !

15 Jan 00 - 03:55 PM (#163431)
Subject: Figure this Out !
From: Lonesome EJ

Here's a nifty little game called "In other Words." Take a well-known Folk or Blues song title, like Blowin' in the Wind, and put it in other words ie: "Propelled through the Atmosphere by Powerful Air Currents". The correct guesser presents the next IOW.

I'll start- "Martial contest Taking Place in Randy Newman's Hometown"

Would that be "The Battle of New Orleans ?" T.

Right, LeeJ???? Go for it, Tbird! He was born in L.A., but spent a lot time in New Orleans. What's the next one?

Assuming I got the answer right, my modified title is:

"Of your courtesy, qualify not my marsupial self by means of an urisnominiferous adjective."

You were right Okie! Now... the marsupial...hmmm

The only marsupial that comes to mind is a kangaroo, cant remember the words..Tie me kangaroo down.

Subject: RE: BS: Figure this Out !

It's something like "please don't judge me kangaroo(or wallabie,or..) by a (what the HELL does urisnominiferous mean?)adjective". Dictionary anybody?

Oh, boy, my BIG dictionary just has uriniferous which means to convey urine, so I guess it's a pisser!

Has this got anything to do with Cleigh!!!???

Tie Me Kangaroo Down ???????

15 Jan 00 - 04:46 PM (#163458)
Subject: RE: BS: Figure this Out !
From: Okiemockbird

I'm afraid I misled you slightly: it should be "urisnominiferous noun", not "adjective".

Hint #2: "ursinominiferous" may be a neologism. You can parse it by breaking it down into its Latin roots.

T.

15 Jan 00 - 04:53 PM (#163462)
Subject: RE: BS: Figure this Out !
From: Okiemockbird

Oops: the spelling should be "urSInominiferous" not "uris". Sorry.

Hint #3: It has been mentioned in this forum in the past year.
