Folk nights in North Wales

A friend of mine has recently moved to Llandudno in North Wales and is struggling to find and folk clubs/music sessions nearby. A quick look on-line has thrown up a lot of out of date info so I was wondering whether anyone here is aware of extant folk evenings in the area.

He's able to travel an hour or so each way so anywhere along the coast or south as far as, say, Dolgellau would fit the bill nicely.

Many thanks, all!

I remember playing the Rhyl folk club back in th eearly 70s when it was at the Bee Hotel.

Jeremy Taylor once told me a funny story of when he played there. He arrived in Rhyl by train, got in a “Tacsi” (or however it’s spelt in those parts) and asked the driver to take him to the Bee Hotel. The driver drove him to the other side of the car park and said there you are sir, no charge!

I think these days Facebook^ is a good place to get the latest info.

also
The Folk Club Map shows four potentials :
Anglesey, Conwy, Ruthin, & two similarly named clubs, both meet on Fridays! Rhyl Folk & Acoustic(Llanddulas) and Rhyl Folk Club(Rhyl).

I think you will find the Conwy entry is out of date on your map. Thee is an announcement on the clubs Facebook page dated Sept 2021 saying they had lost the venue.

The info on the Club's Website may be right. That places the club in Dwygyfylchi.

I'd guess The Bangor (mostly Irish) Session still runs n Fridays.

Really appreciate all the replies, everyone.

Sadly the Irish session in Bangor has finished. All others seem to up & running though, which is great news.
