Tech: DT Search gives error

Subject: Tech: DT Search gives error
From: NightWing

For several days I have been getting an error message from (almost!) every search I've done on forum and DT. The error message begins:

The web site you are accessing has experienced an unexpected error.
Please contact the website administrator.

The following information is meant for the website developer for debugging purposes.
Error Occurred While Processing Request
There was a problem while attempting to perform a search.

And then continues with what looks like HTML code.

I have noticed "Error 500" in several of the error messages and "GC overhead limit" in several of the error messages. Neither appears in ALL of the responses searches I've tried and in some of the responses, both appear.

And the error messages does not appear on ALL the searches I've done. I got an ordinary response when I searched 10 minutes ago for "little" ... but then a few minutes later when I made the same search, I got the error message again.

I've tried clearing cache and cookies: no effect.

Any other suggestions?

If it helps, I'm running Windows 10 Home, version 21H2, build 19044.2251 and I use Firefox 107.0.

BB,
NightWing

Good to see you're still around, NightWing. We've always had problems with our "Lyrics and Forum Search," and I often wish it didn't have such a prominent place on our Forum Menu. Mudcat has lots of different search engines, and most of them are far more reliable. You can find explanations of all of them in the first message of our FAQ/Newcomers' Guide. And if that doesn't work, Ask Joe. He likes answering questions.

I would certainly read and study that FAQ, but one thing that helps is look further down on the main screen, for the smaller box next to the word "Filter", type in your search term, select a suitable time frame, and see if you can get results that way.
