From: Steve Shaw Shamima Begum was lured/trafficked (if you like) at the age of 15 (should I repeat that for emphasis?) to join Islamic State. Within days she was "married off" to an IS fighter who was in his mid-20s. In a short time, she had three babies, all of whom died. The Tory government has stripped her of her citizenship, and, whilst that prevails, she can never come home, and must spend her life, as in the last eight years, in a refugee camp. Other nations whose children joined IS are gradually allowing them to come home. But not the UK. I think that this is abhorrent. Shamima is no security threat, as the government has lied that she is, and she has the potential to do a great job back here in educating other young people as to how they can avoid extremism. But, as ever, Suella Braverman knows best. I could bloody weep, I could. |

She was like a lamb to the slaughter at the early age of fifteen, and has lost three little babies. Where is compassion? She should not have been made 'stateless' by the government. If they allowed her to come back, they could monitor her for a while to check she isn't being contacted by IS. And as Steve says, she'd be very useful in advising young people about avoiding extremism. On the News last night, the refugee camp in Syria where she's billeted looked dreadful. Poor lass. |

She grew up in England and was educated in English schools. At 15 she was groomed and/or "radicalised" and transported to Syria. Declaring that her British citizenship can be taken away and that she is a citizen of. Bangladeshi Desh, a country she has never been to,, on the grounds that her family came from there, is an appalling act of irresponsibility on the part of the British State, one which it has hard to envisage any other country having the brass neck to carry out. In no way can it be suggested that BanglanDesh bears any responsibility for anything she may have done. That responsibility still lies with Britain. If there are grounds for claiming she has been guilty of criminal activity while living in the territory controlled by Isis, that should be tested in a criminal court, and that should happen in this country. |

From: Steve Shaw It was crystal clear from Question Time tonight that Labour, incomprehensibly, is supporting the Tory view on Shamima Begum, supporting her banishment. Labour, serially, is acting not on principle but is trying to calculate the electoral impact of every move it makes. Not only is this pusillanimous approach detestable, it's the time-honoured way of how to lose elections. |

The only reason to vote for them is because the only serious alternative candidates to Labour in most places are the Conservatives.. Where that isn’t the Labour stands to deservedly lose a great many potential voters. This is good news for Liberals and especially for the SNP. |
