Are Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher still performing, or indeed still with us?

They are still with us, but perform very infrequently.

Yes, Nick, he’s had a few health issues. Both Bill and Dave were in good spirits last time I saw them last autumn.

Dave Fletcher will be performing a solo spot at Lincolnshire Day of Folk at Leadenham Lincolnshire this Sunday afternoon at 4pm
Folk day is a great day free to all with local artists incuding Vicki Clayton and Winter Wilson

I had hoped to see Bill at Leadenham yesterday, but was told he is not well. So sorry to hear that Bill ~ hope you're feeling much better soon. However, Dave did a superb song spot, though it seemed strange seeing him alone on the stage. Big love to you Bill, hope to see you soon.

I have all Bill and Dave's albums - mainly bought FROM Dave, good to hear you're still around.

I was playing them just the other day - The Call and the Answer recorded by Sue at Faldingworth on YouTube (which made me dig out the albums again).

I wish you both the best of health where possible.

I have been putting together a couple of presentations for Whitby Folk Week and keep coming across stuff from my personal archive which leads me off at tangents.
One such was coming across Bill & Dave performing at the memorial event held for Brian Dawson in Sleaford - great stuff!
There was also a superb offering from John Connolly (a writer of sea shanties according to the dimwits at the BBC!). Hey hum!!

Dimwits in all departments. I was the biggest dimwit for working for them for 34 years. Well, it paid the rent. I would love to see Dave and Bill together again. Let's hope.

Sang the Courteous Traveller at Prayer for the Earth in Salisbury Square, Hertford the other day - it was well thought of. I'd like Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher to know this, and, ideally, grant us permission to include the lyrics in our compilation of all "Prayers for the Earth", offered daily here, for every day of 2024.
