Those who are not granted refugee status or humanitarian protection, will instead be granted permanent residence so that they are able to stay and integrate into Rwandan society. On 15 November 2023, the UK Supreme Court (UKSC) unanimously found the government's intended policy of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda is unlawful.
