French singer François Hardy has passed away aged 80.
Among my favourites. Thank you for your lovely music. RIP François

Francoise Hardy's voice transports me to a lost imagined world of 60's stripy tops, smoky basement cafes, onion shaped bottles with candles, and the cool French singer hunched over a guitar. The epitome of cool. She wrote intimate songs of wistfulness and melancholy that crossed seas. 'All over the world' and 'Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles', are just beautiful - like the lady herself. She may be gone, but Her music lives on and captures an era of 60's pop/folk crossover - though she continued to write and perform in different decades and musical styles. RIP

Didn't half fancy her in my youth. I've still got a couple of albums somewhere.
RIP.

I met her on a school exchange scheme... Wrote this a few years back.
My Forever Love, Francoise Hardy.

Oh my love Francoise, you made me this way
Thinking about you day after day.
I know when it started and the reasons why,
I was only fourteen but I had a good eye.
I spotted you filming on the River Seine,
You kissed my cheek and I didn’t complain
I played all the tracks, on your LPs so great
The sound of your voice had decided my fate.
I looked at your picture each day from the start,
And soon realised you had stolen my heart.
Although aware that you could never be mine.
I was consumed with a passion, a love so divine,(OK so it was a crush!!)
I wanted you to think, about me the same way,
As I thought about you, every magical day.
Though fully aware, that this could never be,
I knew in my mind, l would never be free.
I’d like to forget you, but I never will,
I still play your music and think of you still.

Michael J Hill March 2020.(c)

Rest in peace beautiful lady.

She brightened our youth.

Her Wiki page in English

Some early songs...
Tous les garçons et les filles
C'est à l'amour auquel je pense
Le temps de l'amour with her husband Jacques Dutronc
Le premier bonheur du jour
Mon amie la rose
La nuit est sur la ville
L'amitié
Ce petit cœur
La maison où j'ai grandi
Ma jeunesse fout l' camp
Comment te dire adieu

Age catches us all, sad to hear of her passing. I was a boy of 18 years when she stood next to me in Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, though I was never a huge fan.
