12 Jun 24 - 05:56 AM (#4203797) Subject: RE: Obit: François Hardy From: GUEST,Rossey Francoise Hardy's voice transports me to a lost imagined world of 60's stripy tops, smoky basement cafes, onion shaped bottles with candles, and the cool French singer hunched over a guitar. The epitome of cool. She wrote intimate songs of wistfulness and melancholy that crossed seas. 'All over the world' and 'Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles', are just beautiful - like the lady herself. She may be gone, but Her music lives on and captures an era of 60's pop/folk crossover - though she continued to write and perform in different decades and musical styles. RIP |

12 Jun 24 - 07:13 AM (#4203801) Subject: RE: Obit: François Hardy From: Georgiansilver I met her on a school exchange scheme... Wrote this a few years back. My Forever Love, Francoise Hardy. Oh my love Francoise, you made me this way Thinking about you day after day. I know when it started and the reasons why, I was only fourteen but I had a good eye. I spotted you filming on the River Seine, You kissed my cheek and I didn’t complain I played all the tracks, on your LPs so great The sound of your voice had decided my fate. I looked at your picture each day from the start, And soon realised you had stolen my heart. Although aware that you could never be mine. I was consumed with a passion, a love so divine,(OK so it was a crush!!) I wanted you to think, about me the same way, As I thought about you, every magical day. Though fully aware, that this could never be, I knew in my mind, l would never be free. I’d like to forget you, but I never will, I still play your music and think of you still. Michael J Hill March 2020.(c) Rest in peace beautiful lady. |
