From: Cool Beans I have a Powerwerks 100 all-in-one amp/speaker and I'm using an Ear Trumpet microphone that picks up both voice and acoustic guitar. It all works well until I turn the volume up more than a third of the way and then there's feedback. I welcome any advice. Thanks in advance. |

From: cnd I'm more on the stereo/receiver side of things, but I often run into issues like this with newer turntables which have built-in amplifies. A number of my friends have bought these and tried to plug them into the turntable jack of an older receiver (which itself is amplified). Perhaps both the mic and amp are amplified? Is there a non-amplified jack on the amp to plug it into? |

From: GUEST,Ray The mic. picks up the output from the speaker, re-amplifies it and, beyond a certain point, it enters a continuous loop and will feed back. It’s simply a fact of life. Try moving the mic. further from the speaker or angling it differently and see how that goes. It could be down to certain peak frequencies and you could try inserting some form of feedback destroyer into your signal chain. |

CND: Ground loop/mains line noise from two, or more, poorly isolated AC/DC power supply/converters. Switching to the turntable's phono (RCA jack) output powers everything from the external preamp only. Must be a dedicated low level RIAA type turntable input though. Not always standard as vinyl began to fall out of fashion. Laptops and PCs sometime don't play nice either. Different +/-DC rail voltages. Floating the laptop on battery only will usually work around that. |
