One of the verses began: Thank you Mr Edward Heath you're a very nice chap And ended But don't smile on South Durham or your teeth will turn black. |

I first heard it sung in London in 77 by someone who went to clubs in the Stockton area but can't remember the lyrics either after all these years! He was a big fan of the great Peter Bond, similar humour to some of Peter's songs, but not by him. |
