Most Popular Session Tunes

Just thought I'd let you all know about the newest page on the Prof's Irish Site.. an endeavour to establish the all time top twenty session tunes in each of the three main categories..(hornpipes, jigs, reels.. for anyone who doesn't know).. and yes all the various types of jigs have, for convenience sake, been lumped together.
So if you care to see what's currently holding "chart positions" and/or wish to cast your vote.. it's the usual address www.prof.co.uk/irish1.htm and click on the navibar.
Or if you wish to add your nominations here please do, but my internet access is fairly limited at the moment.. still using a "friend's" p.c. until I can replace my own..
And yes I am getting withdrawl symptoms through not being able to get on the mudcat every night.

Cheers
Mick

Ahh but think of all that extra time you can now be using to practice and play an instrument. Now is the time to take up playing Balinese gongs and applying them to Celtic music.

We did have a dig player at our sessions. It was great, especially having the drone without the volume of the pipes.

Foxhunter's Reel. I'm not too keen on the title but its my favourite at this moment.

Has it a another (better) title?

Mary,
You know there's one coming back

Sorcha.. I'm surprised if the "Swallow's Tail Reel" isn't listed.. it's one we do as part of a set.. if not it's because I tried to limit each category to 20 tunes...
Why not submit your own favourites?

Soph.. and all you others.. I'm surprised you've not "Hit" on the newest recruit to Celtic music.. namely the "Irish Spanish Guitar".

And as Dave Allen would say
May your God go with you
Mick

Mick, have you removed the list of most popular tunes from your site? I can't find the page.
