FYI... there are several versions of this tune: an ancient song version and a distinctly different tune for pipers. Just to complicate things further, there are two settings commonly played for the pipes. |

From: Jon Freeman I haven't tried the ceolas soucre that Barry has given but certainly feel that utilities to convert between ABC and MIDI are "essential" tools and are well worth seeking out. Here is an ABC conversion from the MIDI in the DT: Jon

12 Feb 00 - 09:32 PM (#177398) Subject: RE: Tune Req: Flowers of the Forest ABC? From: Jon Freeman As far as I understand it, Mid2Txt was designed to make it possible to post MIDI files to Mudcat which can then be reconverted to MIDI using the Txt2Mid program. One thing with the Mid2Txt is that it also provides an ABC conversion with the line breaks suitable for posting here and presumabl does not produce ABC with symbols that upset the Mudcat system. It can be found at http://www1.tpgi.com.au/users/afostes/miditext.html Jon |
