Oh, Bugsy, I checked a couple of sound samples on the site. I gotta get this for my mother. She's always too embarrassed to make up goofy words to 12-bar blues, but I figure that's what those 12 bars are meant for when you aren't feeling blue!

Is his work distributed in Canada? Particularly Toronto, tho' Vancouver is closer to Oz and I wouldn't have to convert currency for postage. Does he tour our wide land? (If he does, AND breaks even, there a several thousand giggers of the Great White North who might want some advice ;-) )

I take it you are talking about "THE BRONCHIODILATED BLUES".

That track is available on his album "Bernard Carney Collection" and also his new album "No Time Like The Future".

The Collection leans more toward the Comedy side of his personality.

Let me know which album it is you require and I will let you know how to go about getting it.

I would like to endorse Bugsy's accolades for Bernard Carney. The Top End Folk Club here in Darwin has brought Bernard up from Perth for festivals on two or three occasions. He is great value - a versatile bloke indeed. In particular, he is a superlative guitarist, notably on ragtime pieces. His material can range from traditional, rounds, musical hall, his own compositions right through to rock if you wish. He has an easy-going rapport with an audience and is blessed with a laconic wit. Mudcatters in the UK should seize the opportunity to hear Bernard in person.

I have fallen out with my local folk club but looking at the dates and venues, he is moving from Lancashire to South Wales. The Conwy (N Wales) club meets on a Monday night and may fit in with his plans.

Thanks for the itinerary Bugsy; will you update the list as the bookings pour in?
And to all you Mudcatters in UK, do try to catch Bernard when he tours.

And request Fig Leaf Rag for me!

Wow! I really like his sound. "Gardens of Death" is beautiful and sad. I've put him on my list of CDs to get.

Bugsy, which one would you recommend as a first to listen to? Any favourites?

Thanks,

kat

Kat', it depends on which side of Bernard you are looking for. "The Bernard Carney Collection" is tuned more toward humour whilst "No Time Like The Future" features Bernards more serious work, along with Peter Grayling, a superb cellist. I will be playing some of this album on my folk show on Sunday.

Let me know what you want and I'll work out how to get it to you.

cheers

Bugsy

Thanks! If you are in touch with him you might mention his links to Order his CD's do not work, at least not with MSIE.

I'll listen this evening when you are on. Sounds as though I may want a couple, but will have to balance my budget first:-) Do you know how much he charges for them?

No rush, thanks,

kat

SORRY FOLKS.... Made a BIG mistake on the price of the CD's.

I have now done some calculations and the price is as follows:

US$15.00 +$2.00 p&p.

I hope this makes them more affordable to 'cats.

Once again - sorry for the mix up.
